Operation Anshar – Finnale

Finally, she is being built! After several long an lonely months gathering materials and sweet talking associates from Twisted Creations for bargain mineral prices and blueprint copies I have got the Anshar in the factory. You forget how big a pile of 120 million Tritanium really is until you walk past it in your hangar. It is also a bit of a logistical nightmare getting all your materials to one place from different sides of the Empire, and that is just the minerals to build the Obelisk, which I may add is a damn fine ship on its own merits.
I gave up playing the waiting game on Fermionic prices to fall, and just bit the bullet and paid the current vastly over priced prices, I should still be bale to turn round a good profit if I decide to sell the Jump Freighter once its built. Although the route to Jita and back is purely through ’safe’ Empire space, when you have a hold with over a billion ISK’s worth of cargo in a ship that aligns to warp by tea time, it can be a bit nerve racking to say the least. To quote a good friend of mine ‘there were a couple of brown trouser moments’.
I invested in a set of Gallente Advanced Capital Component blueprints to build the Advanced Capital parts needed to pimp the Obelisk into a Jump Freighter, and had them being researched for mineral efficiency while I was building the Capital parts for the Obelisk, this helped cut costs on advanced materials. The Obelisk came off the production line a few hours ago, and went straight back into the factory to be pimped into my Anshar, 23 days from now she should be ready for her maiden voyage. That should give me enough time to gather materials for the next one……

On a side note, I have been rather busy with that game ‘Real Life’ and my R.L wife (don’t ask) has just given birth to our baby son, so my time here may be somewhat limited from now on. Oh, and no you can’t have my stuff.

I’m still here

What month is it? Doesn’t time fly when you are busy, and man, how busy have I been recently? I got hooked on this historical Earth Simulation called R.L, so far into it we have a baby due soon, hence my absence really.
So, project Anshar is still under way, its slow going when you are doing these big builds solo, especially with the quantities of minerals and advanced materials that needed sourcing. I managed to blag free blueprint copies from an old buddy who shall remain nameless (Cheers Ore!), this helped keep the build cost to a minimum, along with a well researched blueprint for the Obelisk. I currently have all my factory slots churning out the Capital Components for the Obelisk while associates of mine source me the vast quantities of Advanced Materials I need to build the Advanced Capital Construction Components. Its a shame the illegal Fermionics cartel got busted a while back and pushed the prices thru the roof, it does look like they are starting to fall again slowly. Still, there is a nice fat profit margin to be had on an Anshar.

I have been intrigued by the recent discovery of these ‘wormholes’ that have suddenly appeared everywhere, new frontiers always mean new opportunities to make money, so I hooked up with a few old buddies and we went on a few trips thru these wormholes into unknown space. It is a very strange place, and the locals are most definitely hostile. They have ships and weapons that I have never seen before, much more advanced than the best in our so called Empire. They do drop interesting loot when you finally crack them, including new technologies, which I am sure I could teach myself how to replicate and build. These parts are fetching a premium price on the open market for the time being, so probably better to sell them now and work with them a little later.
Anyway I must get back to work, I have some stealth bombers to put together….

I’m back!

I know you all missed me while I was away, yes you did, you’re mistaken.

I have been a little tied up recently, and not the fun kind, but I am finally back to my little project Operation Anshar. While I was away I had an Obelisk BPO stuck in the labs running off copies for my invention, I decided to buy a BPO rather than rely on the unreliable BPC market. Its was a fair sized investment, but it should pay off quite fast. The bad news is I have had another failure in the invention labs, but you learn from your mistakes and my next attempt was a screaming success, I have an Anshar to build, at the best possible material efficiency too. As a girl on her own, it may take me a while to stockpile all the resources needed to build one of these beasts but I will get there. I am continuing to run the copy and invention cycle on the Obelisk blueprint, the incnome from copies should help fund the build project. I have also heard gossip in a couple of bars about new discoveries in moon mining techniques and processes that will probably effect the materials market in one way or another. I can see the more expensive products falling slightly with the new methods for creating the raw materials, but the cheaper items may rise as their base materials are being channelled elsewhere.

As always my little Ammo factory is keeping the ISK flowing in the right direction, and I have also been investing in a small mineral relocation project that has been seeing some very nice returns, in the region of 25-30% on top of the original investment. Its all down to timing and catching the market in peaks and troughs.

Well that’s enough of my trade secrets given away, I best get back to the labs to keep the ISK flowing in…..

Operation Anshar

Man, those Obelisk BPO owners really take the piss with their prices, so much so I have gone out an bought my own. Needless to say it went straight into the copy-shop for the long haul that is copying these bastards. They are SO complex it takes almost a month in the labs just to make a single copy. It should save me a fair few hundred million ISK in the long run.

While I have been waiting I have done a few risky low-sec material runs, but they have been very worthwhile financially, combined with the recent crash in the Morphite market it has been a good time to stock up on materials. It goes without saying that I have still been rattling out those Scorch crystals, they are still selling well. I also passed my final Gallente Battleship test and can now fly 3 out of 4 Marauder class ships, I more exam to go for the full set. Inventing a Kronos was fairly simple, it only took a couple of attempts to get a nice efficient blueprint copy for my own use.

Back to the books for me, I’ll be glad once I finish Battleship school for ever…..

Operation Anshar

It’s been a while since I updated you all on my progress with Operation Anshar, mainly because there has been very little progress. I have had a couple of near misses with my invention work, I can almost see the Anshar blueprint in my workings but there is some snag right at the last minute causing all the work to fall apart right at the end. The other problem I have been having is sourcing a steady, cheap supply of Obelisk blueprints to work from. The prices of these are fluctuating wildly these days, nobody seems sure of their actual worth. I refuse to pay over 100 million ISK for a single run blueprint, more than happy to sit and wait for the sales to drop off and prices to fall.

To keep me busy I have been rattling off a load more Scorch and Tremor large ammunition, these do not provide the instant injection of cash that larger ships provide, but they are a nice steady income. There always seem to be people who want to shoot each other, which is always good for business. It does however drive up the prices of the high end minerals, as people are losing more and more expensive ships, and requiring more advanced modules and ammunition to kill each other. Those of you who have been around a while will have grown used to these price fluctuations, high ends go up, low ends go down, so now is the time to stock up on all that cheap Tritanium and Pyerite; Megacyte and Morphite will peak and drop in price soon enough pushing the see-saw the other way.

On a totally different note, I am getting bored of Empire life again, it could be time to go walkabout and see what’s going on in the outlying regions. I feel the need to build bigger things, so if anyone is looking for a non-political Carrier, Dreadnaught, Mothership or even Titan builder then let me know. I still have to catch up with my good buddy Oresome and build a few Outposts. I can’t be arsed with all the politics and skulduggery that goes on in 0.0, I’ll leave that to the people who fly the capital ships to sort out. You never know I may even dust off some mining equipment and go in search of Morphite myself !! OK lets not be silly, that’s a stupid idea.

Obelisk Update

August 18, 2008 on 4:44 pm | In In Character Blog | 1 Comment

As you probably gathered by the delay in my progress update, the first Obelisk invention failed. I was so close too I can feel it. Next one is lined up and ready to go as soon as I make it home, if I still have a home that is. I forgot to pay the bills before I went away and some paper pusher has impounded all my assets. There is gonna be trouble when I get there if my offices have been re-let to someone with piss poor Caldari tastes.

Anyway I have a long trip home, so I will catch up with you all later…….

Back to work.

I must admit I have been taking it easy over the last couple of weeks, and not doing a great deal. Its been great, but back to reality now. Two of my Golems sold while I was away, which is nice, and the last of the components to build another two are due out of the factory in a few days. I ran a few invention jobs on some Cruise Missile Launchers just to ease myself back into work, with great results, three out of five success rate. More stuff to build…..

With my new found wealth from my recent sales I have decided to up the stakes a little on my invention jobs, Battleships are all well and good but anyone can build those, even the Tech II variants. Its time to scale up to something a little larger, much larger in fact. I have been flying an Obelisk, the Gallente freighter, for some  time now and the Jump Drive enabled version does look interesting. So I had a flick thru the want to sell ads and found a guy selling buleprint copies just past Luminaire for 95 million. Not cheap but a hell of a lot cheaper than they used to be, anyway I grabbed a few and headed back home to go thru my invention bits and bobs. Found a few handy decryptors that should help with the material efficiency if I am successful, datacores are not a problem I will be glad to get rid of some to be honest.

These jobs are bar far the most technical I have undertaken and are going to keep my labs busy for almost 3 days, I am going to be chuffed if I manage to pull this off. The next problem will be sourcing the vast amounts of materials for Capital sized components, luckily I have a few friends who owe me a favour who own a full set of blueprints for the parts. I’ll be back in a day or two to give you an update on how things went.

At Last!

Finally, something constructive is out of the factory, time to reap some rewards from the last few weeks bordem. I went away for a week to spend some time planet-side, out in the wilderness, it was very nice, but now I’m back in station with two new Golems to take to market. I notice prices have gone up recently, it must be these inter-faction wars going on at the moment and who said nobody wins in war? I still have a few days left on the remaining parts for the last two ships so I guess its back to ammo building for a while, it keeps the ISK trickling in.

Good Times

Damn that Minmatar wine, it kicks your head like a mule in the morning. I bumped into a couple of old equantencies in that bar the other day, not seen either of them for a while, they moved to foreign parts with those crazy religious nutters the Amaar. I’m sure it was purely a financial move on their part, but I do worry about them living amongst them all, we all remember the stories about that cult who did that thing with the moolies, no we wont go there again. I digress, my old chums Oresome and Layla, apparently been on a serious bender for the last few days and ended up coming to see little ol’ me on a drunken whim. I cant believe Oresome is still chasing Layla round like a little puppy, she will never put out, the rich bitches women are all the same, but its a meal ticket I spose, cant hold it against the man.

Anyway it seems Oresome has become a bit of a minor celebrity, after E-ON some ‘Independent’ Rag that calls itself a newspaper interviewed him for an article about his legendary industrial history, pah! legendary I ask you! So he put up a few Outposts, big deal, well I s’pose was one was mid-invasion with a hostile fleet camping the surrounding systems and Outposts. Well it seems they are both still a bit power hungry, or maybe afraid to go it alone, and still keep links with some of the major alliances.

We managed to put away a few more bottles before heading on to find somewhere a little more upmarket, and believe me that’s bloody hard in a Minmatar station. We settled for a Gallente restaurant, it came well recommended, but it turned out to be a complete crap hole, the manager wouldn’t even let us in with our “Remember Its Womble Day” hats on! I know Womble Day was a few weeks ago, but we were busy! Finaly we got a table and ordered what looked likely to be cooked well, I had a salad, and some local brandy, not too sure what Oresome and Layla had, but it cost a bloody fortune. I was asleep before the food arrived, and got rudely awoken by the manager demanding I pay the bill and leave, as he wasn’t running a Caldari doss-house.

You wait ’til I’m next out in God-Land drunk! You two owe me……

Build Queues

July 16, 2008 on 5:39 pm | In In Character Blog | No Comments

Bored, bored, bored!

After all the excitement of the Jita run, sitting around this damn factory is driving me nuts. If these Golems were not worth so much in profit I don’t know if would bother. The armor plating alone is going to take the best part of a month to build, and its not my blueprints, they have all been thru the economizer over one hundred times to make the build process as time efficient as possible. The sheer complexity of the task means it can’t be rushed too much, and I refuse to pay some young upstart to build them for me and slap on some ridiculous mark-up.

So nothing else to do than get out of this damn pod and go for a wander, there’s nothing a Gallante girl likes more than socialising in one of the top pleasure hubs. Crap! I knew there was a reason I hated staying at HQ, its a bloody Minmatar station, they have no idea about style and to them taste is reserved solely for food, or what they pass of as food. I have half a mind to go back to my ship and pass the next 2 weeks consuming those narcotics I managed to loot from some dirty Serpentis scumbag.

……..

Anotha bottle o that sharming Minmatar vintish if-yoo-pleashe my gud fellow!

Ist no-that bad y’know, after the first bottle or two, deshided to pop in here for a quick drinkie and got a little waylaid by the charmin Hek vintage. Issat least 2 years old you know, older than this clone! I’ll just have one more bottle, then back to work, I promise….
